Hedgehogs Pre-School

We are a lively happy Pre-School situated in the rural village of Hundon. We are a self-funding Charity (No 1038958), run by a committee of parents and carers.  The Pre-School has been in operation for over 50 years and has provided Hundon and the surrounding area with a fantastic Pre-school setting. We care for children from two years of age until they are ready to attend Primary School.

Outdoor learning is at the heart of our curriculum, and our quiet rural setting is the perfect place for children to develop and learn, fostering lifelong involvement with nature and activity in the outdoors.

Hundon Hedgehogs' curriculum strongly supports the importance of children having the opportunity to interact with the natural environment, and not only are we lucky to have a large grassed outdoor play area, but Hundon provides the perfect backdrop for nature walks.  The children also have the opportunity of visiting the local park adjacent to the hall, and we encourage as much outdoor playtime as possible in order to help promote development of gross motor skills.

The staff stimulate the children's interest through the activities and opportunities for play they offer.  There are plentiful opportunities for role play, crafts, cooking, music-making, sharing stories, problem solving activities and much more.  Our setting strongly promotes creativity, and we help children to develop through imaginative play, and children take an active role in adapting resources to their own interests.

Hundon Hedgehogs Pre-school aims to provide high quality care and education for children below statutory school age, working in partnership with parents whilst promoting equality and valuing diversity.

We are open term time, Monday through Friday 9.00am – 3.00pm. Our sessions range from 3 hours to 6 hours and include lunch at 12.00.
